Fodor's Review:

The hayloft and milking rooms of this 1810 Federal farmstead, just a few miles southwest of Manchester, now contain lavish suites with king-size four-poster beds, plus such modern perks as two phones and high-speed wireless. The restaurant ($$-$$$$) -- a warren of elegant dining rooms with fireplaces and wide-pine floors -- presents contemporary fare that might include a starter of baked stuffed black mission figs with Gorgonzola, prosciutto, walnuts, and arugula, followed by pan-roasted sea bass with braised fennel and carrots, saffron-whipped potatoes, and rock-shrimp vinaigrette. There's also a casual tavern ($-$$$), where you might sample an herb-grilled steak Cobb salad or tortellini filled with whipped mascarpone cheese and pumpkin.

Good eats in Bedford, NH

Posted by Jaya from Bedford, NH on 2/17/08
Great location with easy access from routes 93 and 101, and the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Quiet location, wonderful old New England charm in the restored house that is the restaurant. Restaurant had more vegetarian options than would be expected. Huge wine selection. Good service. Only a few minutes drive from Manchester, NH.
