Fodor's Review:
Lending a rare touch of urbanity to the sleepy Monadnocks, this upscale redbrick hotel is inside a retrofitted department store on Keene's gentrified Main Street. It's within earshot of local church bells and is a 10-minute walk from Colony Marketplace. Rooms are furnished individually with reproduction Victorian antiques but have plenty of modern gadgets, such as high-speed Internet and individual climate control. The sky-lighted Salmon Chase Bistro ($$-$$$) serves excellent contemporary American fare and presents a terrific wine list.
