After a day of activity in the White Mountains, warm up by this inn's fieldstone fireplace or by the bar's woodstove. Most rooms in this unpretentious 1826 farmhouse have mountain views; several have fireplaces. There are 10 mi of cross-countrry and hiking trails, as well as carriage rides and sleigh rides. The inn's dining room prepares such haute regional American fare. Pros: clean, romantic, remote. Cons: best for couples.
