Sugar Hill Inn
Sugar Hill Inn Review
Inside this romantic 1789 farmhouse you'll find a very elegant dining room where memorable dinners are prepared by chef Val Fortin. Start with a trio of the chef's favorite soups or a butternut squash risotto, followed by a beet-and-anise garden salad. Main courses might include peppercorn-crusted sirloin steak with grilled mushrooms and truffle oil, or a free-range duck served three ways: breast with a bittersweet chocolate sauce, braised leg, and foie-gras ravioli. The creative desserts, such as apple dumpling with pumpkin ice cream or goat cheese crème brûlée with fruit, are all homemade. Because each meal feels individually crafted, the $63 prix-fixe menu is an excellent value. If you like it so much you don't want to leave, the inn has rooms with cozy seating areas next woodburning fireplaces and wicker chairs on the wraparound porch.
