Fodor's Review:

A tranquil 17-acre oasis in this busy resort area, the Buttonwood is on Mt. Surprise, 2 mi northeast of North Conway Village. Staying here you can have a peaceful retreat and avoid the noise of downtown but still have access to area restaurants and shopping. Rooms in the 1820s farmhouse are furnished in Shaker style. Wide pine floors, quilts, and period stenciling add warmth. Two rooms have gas fireplaces. Downstairs is the Mt. Surprise room which has a self-serve bar, library, board games, and DVD library. Pros: good bedding and amenities, tranquil, clean. Cons: unexciting for those not wanting a remote getaway.
