Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa Review
Casual elegance and stunning views of White Mountain peaks define this grand hotel. Rooms are furnished with custom-made mahogany furniture, walk-in closets, and armoires. It also has its own movie theater stocked with more than 500 DVDs. Founded in 1865, the resort offers 1,700 acres for recreation, a petting farm, horseback rides, and kids' programs. Restaurants include the Main Dining Room ($$$), the cozy Tavern ($$), and the seasonal Club House and Veranda ($-$$). Surrounded by 9,000 bottles in the wine cellar, guests enjoy personal attention from their own chef. Skating, horse-drawn carriage and sleigh rides, snowmobiling, dogsledding, breakfast in bed, and marshmallow-tasting campfires are also available.
