Cranmore Mountain adventure park. This downhill ski area has been a favorite of families since it began operating in 1938. Five glades have opened more skiable terrain. The 50 trails are well laid out and fun to ski. Most runs are naturally formed intermediates that weave in and out of glades. Beginners have several slopes and routes from the summit; experts must be content with a few short, steep pitches. In addition to the trails, there's snow tubing, a mountain coaster, and snowboarders have a terrain park and a half-pipe. King Pine Ski Area at Purity Spring Resort. Some 9 mi south of Conway, this family-run ski area has been going strong since the late 19th century. Some ski-and-stay packages include free skiing for midweek resort guests. King Pine's 16 gentle trails are ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers; experts won't be challenged except for a brief pitch on the Pitch Pine trail. There's tubing on weekend afternoons and night skiing and tubing on Friday and Saturday evenings, plus 9 mi of cross-country skiing. Indoors, you can enjoy a pool and fitness complex and go ice-skating. Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring And Snowshoe Foundation. Forty miles of groomed cross-country trails weave through North Conway and the countryside along the Mt.
