Loaf and Ladle
Loaf and Ladle Review
There are three components to this extraordinary place: quality, price, and location. The name refers to homemade bread—more than 30 kinds—and soup—more than 100 varieties are offered on a rotating basis. A bowl of soup, which is a full meal, is $6.25, and it's hard to spend more than that here. Choose a chunk of anadama bread, made with cornmeal and molasses, to go with your soup, and take your meal to one of the two decks that hover over the Exeter River. It's simple and homey.
