Fodor's Expert Review Hancock Inn

33 Main St., Hancock, New Hampshire, 03449, USA Fodor's Choice

Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.

This Federal-style 1789 inn in the heart of quaint Hancock, close to the village green, is the real deal—the oldest in the state and the pride of this idyllic town 8 miles north of Peterborough. Common areas possess fireplaces, big wing chairs, comfortable couches, and dark-wood paneling, and accommodations have antique four-poster beds and original wood floors. The Fox Tavern restaurant serves commendable contemporary American fare, and across the street is the town market and popular Fiddleheads Cafe.
