A pontoon boat cruise is one of the main attractions at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, and is the best way to tour the waterfront. Naturalists talk about the animals that make their home here, and give fascinating facts about the loon. This 230-acre property includes a ¾-mile nature trail that passes by trailside exhibits of black bears, bobcats, otters, mountain lions, red and gray fox, and other native wildlife. The "Up Close to Animals" series in July and August lets you get a good look at these creatures. Children's activities include learning about bugs and wilderness survival skills.
