Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site
Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site Review
Just south of Plainfield, where River Road rejoins Route 12A, a small lane leads to this historic site, where you can tour sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens's house, studio, gallery, and 150 acres of grounds and gardens. Scattered throughout are full-size casts of his works. The property has two hiking trails, the longer of which is the Blow-Me-Down Trail. Concerts are held every Sunday afternoon in July and August. The museum is about 1½ mi north of the Cornish-Windsor Bridge on Route 12A.
