Peepshow Review
Reality TV succeeded where Broadway director-choreographer Jerry Mitchell fell short. Mitchell conceived this one as a big-budget attempt to reinvent burlesque and striptease with a Broadway aesthetic. When audiences didn't respond in large enough numbers to his ribald riffs on classic fairy tales (What? Red Riding Hood isn't a turn-on?) it downsized and became a vehicle for former Playmate and "Girl Next Door" Holly Madison. So far the gambit has worked. The reality TV series Holly's World not only sustained Madison's curiosity value, but made reality-TV stars of her BFFs: male singer Josh Strickland and personal assistant Angel Porrino.
