South Point Hotel Casino & Spa Review

Perk or quirk—the South Point is the only resort in the Las Vegas area to house an equestrian center, a venue that frequently hosts rodeos and other horse-oriented shows. Elsewhere on site are a 64-lane bowling alley, a 16-screen movie theater, and one of the biggest bingo halls in town. Hotel rooms are modern and welcoming, with 42-inch flat-screen televisions, couches, and spacious desks. The palm-lined pool area is inviting, too, provided you don't mind low-flying airplanes taking off from nearby McCarran Airport. The sports book packs in big crowds on game days, with more than 300 seats. Visitors also would be wise to capitalize on locals-oriented jackpots and promotions inside the modest poker room (just be sure to sign up for a player's card).

    Terrific Choice

Husband & I stayed here in April for a Veterans Reunion. The staff was extremely helpful for all things relating to this event. Our room was very large and comfortable. We had a view of the hotel pool area with the mountains in the back ground. A real plus!! Coronado Cafe is an excellent choice for restaurant. It's 24/7. The food is excellent and plenty of it. There was always a line for breakfast, but you never waited more than 20 minutes. Another thing that I found good is that you are not directly on the "Strip" which means you aren't among all the hub bub. It's only about 5 miles away and the hotel offers free shuttle service. For those of us who prefer shopping as part of our trips, there is a really nice outlet mall only about 4 miles from the hotel. Hotel has directions to it, and there are plenty of cabs available. I will end by saying that you certainly can't go wrong by staying at South Point!
