Monte Carlo Resort and Casino
Fodor's Finds Hotels
Book NowMonte Carlo Resort and Casino Review
The Strip could use more places like this: it's handsome but not ostentatious, and they haven't skimped on the rooms, which are outfitted with elegant cherrywood furnishings. If you have kids, the place also is a more upscale alternative to Excalibur: family-friendly perks include a kiddie pool and a mini "water park." There's a decent selection of restaurants (including the French institution André's and the trendy Diablo's Cantina), and the casino is so orderly you can follow a carpeted "road" from one end to the other. There's a handsome pool, and after a fire in January 2008, the top floor of the hotel (dubbed "Hotel 32") reopened as a hotel-within-a-hotel with 50 swanky rooms and suites that overlook the Strip. Pros : surprisingly nice rooms; easy to navigate casino. Cons : taxi entrance in the middle of nowhere

Not being one to worry to much about the sound a toilet makes when flushing, just that it does!! the bathrooms were good sized - how much make-up do those broads carry, anyway? - that said - yeah, that beep, beep, beep, was an issue for my guy, so he called the front desk, and without question they changed our room to the strip side, and the noise level was really reduced. the first room had more channels on the t.v. (?) don't know why, but was not a big deal. lost money on slots ($75.00) and unlike on t.v. the casino wouldn't give it back! huh! go figure!! not a lot of hot bikini babes for my guy to examine at poolside, like on t.v. (we watch too much t.v., anyway)-the river pool was really cool - you just float along - different from a jacuzzi as the water flows over your body - nice!!!didn't come for rooms, but oh, those pillow tops, yea!! our rooms was nice and clean, the staff were accomadating - price was right - got a couple of perk coupons - not bad - only thing - they had shut off our key cards by 9:30am on check out day - if we'd have left the room together we'd of been screwed - all in all, would we book it again?? sure, why not, except vegas is a buffet of hotels - try 'em all - would i avoid this hotel? - no

Was here for the CES show and was surprised to have my cabbie from the airport tell me that I'd be lucky to get any sleep during my stay. Turns out that he wasn't entirely correct, but was onto something.
There is a huge construction site next door where they are building a number of mega-properties and one of the mornings I was awakened at 6:00AM to the pounding at the construction site. This is not exactly what I had in mind.
The casino itself was relatively empty, and I'm wondering if that was an indication of a much less than capacity resort.
I would stay away from this one unless you remember to bring along your ear plugs - if you don't mind the construction you can probably gain a pretty good deal. -

When we booked our room, we were not warned that there is a 24-hour construction project underway next door that causes terrible noise in many of the rooms. The project us being done by the same company that owns the Monte Carlo, which tells you something about the concern they have for the comfort of their guests. We had three different rooms in three nights, and on the third night they tried to put us in another room right next to the construction. Except for one person, the staff was unapologetic and didn't compensate us for these problems. Stay away!
