Gustav Mauler, who had long been chef and restaurant developer for the former Mirage Resorts company, struck out on his own with this stylish yet affordable Italian restaurant. The menu presents a contemporary take on traditional favorites. Starters might include spicy Italian sausage and clams with a seafood broth, and sweetwater shrimp wrapped in prosciutto with a lemon-sun-dried tomato sauce. Entrées usually comprise a number of handcrafted pastas, spit-roasted herb chicken with garlic-mashed potatoes, and wild Alaskan halibut with shrimp, capers, grape tomatoes, and a lemon-butter sauce. Desserts are often whimsical and delicious.
