Marrakech
Marrakech Review
Sprawl out on soft floor cushions and feel like a pampered pasha as belly dancers shake it up in a cozy Middle Eastern-style "tent" with a fabric-covered ceiling and eye-catching mosaics. The $39.95 prix-fixe feast is a six-course affair that you eat with your hands; it usually includes Moroccan-spiced shrimp scampi, vegetable salad, lentil soup, Cornish game hen, lamb shish kebab, and the tasty dessert B'stilla, which is baked phyllo dough layered with apples, peaches, and pecans. Algerian wines flow freely in this upbeat spot where servers wear Moroccan robes and patrons are invited to join the belly dancers if they feel the urge.

We loved it! To Fodor's review above, we would add the following based on our experience in early summer 2008: the vegetable salad was marinated vegetables with hummus; the soup was lentil and tomato; the kebabs were beef; the Cornish hen is served on a bed of couscous and vegetables. The only thing which would have made this a better experience would have been a bit more Mediterranean spice in the dishes. Still, we would definitely return!

This family owned business [father (owner), 2 sons (servers), & daughter (belly dancer)] welcomed us with open arms & big smiles. This restaurant had it all: awesome food, great belly dancers entertainment, fun servers, and a positive vibe. Our bachalorette party stayed there for 4 hours! We were very welcomed & were encouraged to dance, clap, & cheer while the performances were on. You will not leave here hungry, the food is unbelievably good. This was the first time I have had Moroccan food and I was worried that I might not like it, but they served food that everyone likes. The cocktails are tasty & strong, watch out... they creep up on you! I recommend the specialty mai tai and ask for the 'Sharifalicious' shot (a shot made by the owner's son). Sharif, our server was fun & witty (he made our night) with our group of 7 rowdy girls. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food, fun, people, and entertainment. Plan on spending some hours here, its not an eat & leave quickly kind of place. Sit back & watch the beautiful belly dancers or jump up and dance with them! You won't be disappointed!
