Agave

Agave Review

This cavernous nuevo Mexican place across from the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa has a circular hot-pink dining room with stained-glass windows and offbeat light fixtures. It's the perfect setting for whimsical creations that might include duck carnitas quesadilla, chile-braised short-rib taquitos, fried rock shrimp tacos, and smothered-pork tamales with blackened tomatillo salsa and Oaxaca cheese. For dessert, try the Mexican-coffee flan with cinnamon crème and fresh berries. Another big draw is the lengthy list of connoisseur-quality tequilas. Night owls take note: Agave is open 24 hours (with a limited menu during the wee hours). The laid-back patio offers a refreshing contrast to the bustling dining room.

Cavernous is a good word for the very nice appointment of the interior decor! Not at all what was expected. Tough to make a huge fuss over good Mexican cuisine but this was a very good experience. The moderate price and the food preparation/taste make this as good of Mexican dining as you might find in Las vegas.
