Silverton Hotel & Casino

Fodor's Review:

Don't overlook this Rocky Mountain lodge-theme hotel, a 10-minute drive south of the Strip. What to look for: a huge Bass Pro Shop; the Mermaid Lounge, with its gigantic salt-water aquarium with 4,000 fish; and the down-home yet trendy Shady Grove Lounge, complete with a bowling alley and 12 huge plasma-screen TVs airing sporting events. Rooms are done with timber-beam ceilings, mounted deer heads, and comfy pillowtop beds with high-quality linens. The hotel is away from the Vegas hubbub but just off I-15, making it a convenient option.

  • Hotel Details: 288 rooms, 12 suites
  • In-room: safe, Internet.
  • In-hotel: 4 restaurants, bar, gym.
