Silverton Hotel and Casino Review

Don't overlook this Rocky Mountain lodge-themed hotel, a 10-minute drive south of the Strip. Popular attractions include a huge Bass Pro Shop; a 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium (complete with mermaid shows); and the down-home yet trendy Shady Grove Lounge, complete with plasma-screen televisions and a mini-bowling alley. The property's spacious rooms are quirky (but in need of an update), blending timber-beam ceilings and mounted deer heads with comfy pillow-top beds and high-quality linens. This budget-friendly hotel, just away from the Vegas hubbub but right off Interstate 15, is a great value and a convenient option for travelers passing through. Pros : Bass Pro Shop is a fisherman's heaven; bowling alley is a nice diversion; great value. Cons : casino underwhelms, mediocre dining options.
