MIX
MIX Review
Look out over Las Vegas from Chef Alain Ducasse's 64th-floor perch atop THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. Stylish and sexy diners seated at small tables or in egg-shaped pods tuck into French-influenced fare, such as bigeye tuna tartare; seared scallops with sweet corn fricassee; and beef tenderloin au poivre. Portions are on the small side, but you're also paying for the view, which is one of the best among Vegas restaurants; every seat in the house has great sightlines through the floor-to-ceiling windows. An attentive staff can help you navigate the more than 1,300 nightly wine options, but don't overlook the list of eye-catching cocktails. A 24-foot-tall Murano blown-glass chandelier made up of some 15,000 handblown spheres never fails to amaze newcomers.

What can one not say about Mix? The view from the top of THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay is fantastic. The view inside is fantastic. And the cusine by Alain Ducasse . . . well I've not had a disappointment in several visits. Mind you this is not the best view available at a Ducasse Restaurant. The Jules Verne on the second deck of the Eiffel Tower in Paris wins that one hands down. Mix comes in a close second. But what you do get is the stellar cusine of Ducasse at a fraction of what you would pay at one of his Paris or Monte Carlo locations.
The serving portions are probably the smallest in a town known for excesses. They're way larger though than what you would see in Ducasse's European establishments however and our waiter advised that they had to increase them from when they first opened.
The restaurant also includes a huge bar that is quite separate from the dining area. There is also outdoor seating available for the not too faint of heart. -

Even if you don't go for dinner... you MUST go to experience the night time 'view' [have drinks at the bar]. And in our experience, the restaurant lives up to the setting. Mix and Michael Mina [at Bellagio] are our favorites.
