With 24-hour service and graveyard specials, Crown & Anchor is uniquely Las Vegas (and a favorite haunt of students from nearby UNLV). Most of the food's British including the steak and kidney pie, bangers and mash, and authentic fish-and-chips. Sandwiches with American and British flavors are plenty, and nightly specials make this spot even more of a bargain proposition. There are "draught" beers from all over the world and a "shoppe" selling anglophile favorites like Branston pickle. If you still doubt the authenticity, know that the trifle is made with Bird's English custard. The decor and faux-cottage exterior are decidedly British, and special events add to the fun: on New Year's Eve the celebration starts when it's midnight in the United Kingdom, which is 4 pm in Las Vegas.
