Buckingham Smokehouse Bar-B-Q

¢-$, Southern, Northwest Las Vegas

User Rating: ***** 4.6

Fodor's Review:

You can smell the barbecue -- actually the smoking wood that's used to cook these down-home favorites -- the minute you walk in the door, at this otherwise nondescript-looking eatery in far northwest Las Vegas. It's worth the drive for exceptionally flavorful beef brisket and pork loin, which are smoked for 18 hours. The baby back ribs are Buckingham's signature piece, but less expensive choices include smoked ham, smoked salmon fillet, pulled pork, and even a hickory-smoked Philly sandwich. For a zesty change of pace, consider the horseradish coleslaw; the sweet-potato french fries are a sweet taste on the side.

Not your ordinary stuffed potato

I've had friends favor the catfish and others like the chicken or pulled pork. I think the stuffed potato is the best. It includes the delicious baked beans as well as some of the smoked beef and pork and the spicy coleslaw. Check out the desserts if you get a chance. There may be pecan pie.
