The oldest, largest, and most famous alternative dance club in Las Vegas is within walking distance of the Hard Rock. Predominantly a male club, it has always welcomed the open-minded regardless of sexual preference. Competition from newer mainstream nightclubs has taken a little of the edge off its crossover appeal, but the "Gip" manages to stay busy, and then some—its modest size often leads to brutal overcrowding. There are nightly drink specials, and deejays spin hip-hop on Fridays and Saturdays. This is the sister property to Piranha Nightclub and 8½ Ultra-Lounge.
