Theater, South Strip
Fodor's Review:
This piece of Vegas history has been running since 1959, but its future is uncertain. New Tropicana owner Columbia Sussex Corp. hasn't declared whether it will close the old Tiffany showroom, build around it, or move it to the new location in a two-year redevelopment of the property. What is certain though is that this revue is living history. The painted flats and dance segments show their age compared to their newer, high-tech counterparts, but the hotel preserves the show with some degree of pride. It would, perhaps, benefit from a cheekier attitude. But there's an argument for playing it straight, now that the Strip has only two classic revues complete with singers, dancers, a juggler, and, of course, showgirls in feathers. Selected early performances keep the showgirl bras on, making the revue fine for older children.
