Fodor's Expert Review La Comida
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This rustic restaurant and lounge is brought to you by Michael and Jenna Morton, late of the N9NE Group. The menu focuses on updated Mexican food served on what looks like Abuelita's old china with mismatched furniture and plenty of depictions of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The cut-from-the-cob Mexican street corn or tostada with tuna, pico de gallo, and microgreens are a great way to start; consider moving on to Gulf shrimp with butternut squash, chorizo, cherry tomatoes, and roasted corn, or mesquite-smoked pork shoulder with plantain chips. And don't forget to try a tamarind or prickly-pear margarita; the place boasts that it has more tequilas than seats.
