The Hard Rock doesn't try to be cool—it just is—and it is the cool-without-trying who hang out here. A vast collection of rock-and-roll memorabilia fills the property, from a Kurt Cobain guitar to a Britney Spears outfit. Navigating the Hard Rock is simple: it's completely circular. On the inside of the circle is the small but accommodating gaming floor, and on the outside, shops and restaurants, which rank among the best of any off-Strip casino. An ambitious plan to expand the casino, build a new showroom, and add condos to the mix was suddenly tabled by Hard Rock Chairman Peter Morton's spring 2006 decision to sell the property to Morgan Hotel Group for a rockin' $770 million. He couldn't completely let go however—as part of the agreement Morton will keep some memorabilia, including a Jimi Hendrix Flying V guitar.
