Downtown

  • 1. The Attic

No other used-clothing store in the world compares. Fans of 1960s and '70s styles should especially love it.

  • 2. Fremont Street Experience

More than 12 million synchronized LED modules mix with 550,000 watts of sound to produce this legendary light show, which Vegas Vic has been overseeing since 1947.

  • 3. Gamblers General Store

There's a big collection of gambling books, as well as poker chips, green-felt layouts, and slot and video-poker machines.

  • 4. Lotus of Siam

Despite its strip mall location, this simple Thai restaurant has attained near-fanatical cult status, with some critics hailing it the best in North America.

  • 5. Neon Museum

A display of neon signs retired from various old Vegas landmarks including the original Aladdin's lamp and the rider on horseback from the Hacienda Hotel.

Map of Downtown

Hotels are cheaper and favored by those with strictly adult pleasures: dice and drinks. They exist in the old Vegas tradition, when guests were expected to spend most of their hours in the casinos, not their rooms; consequently, rooms range from scuzzy to semi-pleasant. Stay here if you want to spend less than $50 per night.
