Seeley Lake

Bordered by campgrounds, hiking trails, and wildlife-viewing opportunities, this community of 1,659 centers on lovely Seeley Lake. Nearby is the Big Blackfoot River, a setting in A River Runs Through It, Norman McLean’s reflection on family and fishing. Host to races and leisure outings, the Seeley Creek Nordic Ski Trails roll across hills and meadows. In winter, 350 miles of snowmobile trails rip through the woods. The major industry, logging, which began in 1892, is evident on some hillsides.
