The smell of freshly baked cookies greets travelers in the afternoon as soon as they walk into the Kalispell Grand. The hotel has been a local landmark for nearly a century, welcoming guests since 1912, shortly after Glacier became a national park. The Grand's lobby has wildlife mounts, rich wood, and comfortable furniture, and they rotate interesting exhibits in their art gallery. The rooms are clean and comfortable with nice-size work desks for business travelers. But for those who would rather relax, they have a certified massage therapist available to work out any sore muscles. Pros: Feels like a step back in time, very friendly staff, delicious cookies every afternoon, and they also make their own pound cake for the continental breakfast. Cons: Immediate vicinity is a little limited except for a few restaurants and some shops. Main Street is very busy in the morning and late in the afternoon with traffic.
