The setting is first-rate at this contemporary B&B: two creeks meander through the property, under the spectacular Mission Mountains, with views of Mission Valley farmland. Three tepees—you may stay in them for the ultimate Western night—and the resident St. Bernard dogs, Hansel and Gretel, are popular with kids. Breakfast consists of homemade biscuits and huckleberry jam, ham, eggs any way you like them, or steel-cut oats.
