Indian Caves Pictographs
Indian Caves Pictographs Review
Native Americans lived in the area for more than 10,000 years, leaving evidence of their presence on cave walls here, including a depiction of a bison hunt. To get to the cave you'll have to hike 1½ mi along the Grouse Creek Trail, near the main Boulder Ranger Station on U.S. 298. The cave is always open, but in poor weather the trail can be difficult to hike. From the trail, it's a hands-and-knees scramble, not recommended for small children, to the cave entrance. A flashlight is useful for visiting the cave.
