Ptarmigan Dining Room Review

This is one of the most picturesque dining spots in the park—the sun sets over Swiftcurrent Lake just outside the massive windows. French-American cuisine is served amid Swiss-style decor. Signature dishes include the wild game sausage sampler, buffalo Stroganoff, and Rocky Mountain trout. Each night there's a chef's special such as fresh fish or pork prime rib with a huckleberry demi-glace. For a true Montana creation, have a huckleberry daiquiri.

    View and nice trouts

Effectively, the view here is a must. The service, by european students is just as you want : with care, but not too present. The room itself has its good point(high ceiling, large windows) and its anachronic points(the fanions, you seem like in a '50 moovie-where is heidi??). The venaison's sausages sampler is good and the grilled trouts are excellent. Huckleberries iec cream is a good choice for desert. Choice of wine by glass is correct. So a nive view and a good meal. For a more casual diner, the Garden restaurant at the swiftcurrent motel is a good choice : breakfast are terrific, the pizzas seem good and the specials are nice. Erik.
