Mountain goats frequent this natural salt lick on a cliff above the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. You can watch the wildlife from an observation stand.

Goat Lick is a "hit or miss" experience in terms of viewing mountain goats. Sometimes they are there, sometimes not. Your best bet is in the summer. The area is basically just a mid sized parking lot with a bathroom and a short trail to the overlook. However, it's in a very senic canyon with gorgeous forest and rushing rivers. It's definitely worth a stop. The whole area is worthwhile the most scenic park I have seen. Did some research for our trip
at http://www.parkcamper.com/ which was very good.
