There's an old-fashioned feel to this handsome Downtown dining room, which is known for steak, fish, lamb, and veal dishes. Jackets are recommended.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3-year anniversary at Al's. The food was absolutely delicious, but our server was incredibly rude. He refused to give us a side of ranch dressing with our salad, saying you "don't put ranch on that specific salad". He also criticized my boyfriend for ordering pasta. He would spend countless minutes talking with his other tables, but would rarely say two words to us. At one point he blatantly rolled his eyes at us and laughed. The food was a tad bit overpriced ($20 for a 2-person salad), but overall very delicious. Just don't get Harold as your server...

The menu is a large tray with all of the entrees thoroughly explained by tuxcedo'd servers.
Fantastic all around. Al is no longer there. having passed away...but the service and food is the same.
