Fodor's Review

Known for sandwiches, chili, ice cream—and especially homemade candy—this restaurant is decorated in a 1930s style with Coca-Cola memorabilia.

step back in time

This is the place to go if you are looking for Ice cream - yes even better than ted drews. The food is okay, but really the reason you are here involves the fosty shakes or killer sundaes. Be sure to come at an off hour time or you will be waiting for a while.

Quaint Little Crown Candy Kitchen

We visited Crown Candy Kitchen on 7/6/03. Upon arrival 5 minutes after they opened, the place was packed but we got a table within 10-15 minutes. Service was great. Food was awesome (dieters need not go). My husband (chili dog) and I (chili tamale) both enjoyed our meals and dessert (chocolate shake and chocolate chip cone). The BLT looked awesome but we didn't have room. I highly recommend this quaint little place.

A Sweet Experience

Don't let the appearance and seedy neighborhood fool you, Crown Candy Kitchen is a St. Louis tradition.Check it out a lunch and you'll see, here is where the locals go for a treat. It's great food and service in a hometown atmosphere that feels like you just stepped back into the 50's.Order what you like, it's all great, but save room for a BIG malt after lunch. You'll get a huge frosty glass and get the silver mixing container to pour the rest in

when you are finished. Yum!!!The place is small and always busy. The line moves quickly and the staff has been there forever. It's cheap food and the kind you won't soon forget. Perfect meal paired with a trip to a downtown location.
