Grab a frozen custard at this old fashioned, wait-outside-in-line stand, treasured by St. Louisians. Summer nights are busy, but the super efficient staff doles out the ice cream through a window with amazing speed. The concretes (shakes) are so thick they can be turned upside down and don't fall out. Don't miss this place.

I find the custard from Ted Drewes to be the best I have ever had. While there are long lines in the summer, they go quickly and the ice cream is well worth the wait.

Great Frozen Custard. A STL tradition. Huge lines in the summer but thay move fast. My fav is the Dutchmen's delight: custard with chocolate sauce, butterscotch sauce and toasted pecans. They are famous for concretes which are very thick shakes. All visitors to St. Louis need to experience Drewes at least once.
