Attractions at this favorite of St. Louis children include a 160-acre petting zoo, education-based elephant and bird shows, an animal preserve, and train ride to visit the famous Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale horses and their breeding facility. A wide selection of outdoor summer-friendly food is available to enjoy in an outdoor dining area.

This is a really cool alternative to the zoo. It is owned/operated by Anheiseur Busch, as much of the city is. Offers farm animals, much different from typical zoo animals. There is a stable of the famous Clydesdales. This farm has a house where President U.S.Grant once lived. Admission is free, although I do believe you pay to park. It is located outside of the city.
