Military Sites, St. Paul
Fodor's Review:
At the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers is Historic Fort Snelling. As the northernmost outpost in the old Northwest Territories, it remained an active military post until after World War II. Costumed guides portray 1820s fort life with demonstrations of blacksmithing, carpentry, and military ceremonies. Exhibits and short films on the fort are shown in the History Center.
