About the Hotels
From rustic lodges surrounded by wilderness to glitzy casino resorts in downtown Detroit, and plenty of quaint and cozy bed-and-breakfasts in between, Michigan’s lodging options truly run the gamut. Because the state embraces all four seasons, it’s not uncommon to find a region popular with skiers in the winter and flush with wine lovers come summer. Due to brutal winter temperatures, almost all hotels are heated, and, despite the occasional stretch of sticky, humid days in the summer, not all offer air-conditioning. During the summer vacation months, reservations are necessary. Hotels in resort towns are only open late spring through early fall.
