Detroit Restaurants

The Whitney

Updated 12/31/1969

Fodor's Review

Once the mansion of lumber baron David Whitney, this posh restaurant turns out creative American dishes, snappy pastas, and very fresh seafood. Brunch is served on Sunday, and lunch is available Tuesday through Friday.

Severly Underated

The Whitney was delightful and surprising. The interior was impressive and fulfilling. The food was priced in accordance with what restaurants of that caliber charge. The food was worth the value and both entrees were delicious. When searching for a romantic change in scenery this is a place to consider.

Novelty setting less than mediocre food

This resaurant has a very nice setting with a very historical background. Unfortunately the food is sub par for the price of world class.
