Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame

Fodor's Review:

Along the banks of the Connecticut River, this 80,000-square-foot facility is dedicated to Springfield's own Dr. James Naismith, who invented the game in 1891. It includes a soaring domed arena, dozens of high-tech interactive exhibits, and video footage and interviews with former players. The Honors Rings pay tribute to the hall's nearly 250 enshrinees.

  • Cost: $17
  • Open: Weekdays 10-4, weekends 10-5
