Student Prince Review
Housed in an old fort, the dark-wood-paneled Student Prince (or the Fort, as the locals call it) is home to one of the largest beer stein and corkscrew collections in the country. Fried Camembert and a few salads notwithstanding, this is a large menu of meats: beef, chicken, seafood, veal, lamb, pork, and sausage. The main attractions here are the German dishes like hoppel poppel ("farmer's omelet," with eggs, onion, potato, bacon, and hot dogs), jaeger schnitzel (veal steak), sauerbraten served with potato dumplings and cabbage, eisbein (pig knuckle), and some especially good sauerkraut. In winter, try the weisswurst (sausage made with veal and fresh pork bacon). Lunch specials include three courses for under $10.
