Salem Cross Inn

Salem Cross Inn Review

On a verdant 600-acre estate, the Salem Cross occupies a Colonial building built by the grandson of Peregrine White, the first child born on the Mayflower. It's a fitting legacy for a restaurant that prides itself on re-creating the Early American dining experience, both in terms of decor and dishes. The occasional Drover's Roasts, when prime rib is spiced and slow roasted for hours in a fieldstone pit, are a favorite event and include a lavish and lengthy feast. Other times you'll find traditional American and Continental fare, such as broiled lamb chops and baked stuffed fillet of sole with lobster sauce. The inn is 12 mi northwest of Sturbridge.
