The Hawthorne Hotel Review

Elegantly restored, this full-service landmark hotel celebrates the town's most famous writer. The historic hotel and tavern is within walking distance from the town common, all museums, and the waterfront. Across the street is Nathaniel's statue and a fine gift shop named after his wife Sophia (Peabody) in the couple's former home. Rooms are outfitted with iPod docking stations and flat screens, and in 2011 the hotel completely remodeled all the guest baths and updated rooms with new beds and linens.

    Summer 2012

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel for a wedding. We had a nice view of the Salem Common. Room was kind of small, we both couldn't really move around at the same time, however it was nicely appointed. Hotel staff was great. Remembered everything about every guest. Very knowledgeable about the area and restaurants. Food & beverages were good. Good location, very close to the tourist attractions.
