Visitor Information in Nantucket

You can stop by the Nantucket Visitor Services and Information Bureau, open weekdays 9 am to 6 pm year-round, to get your bearings, as well as maps, brochures, island information, and advice. The bureau is also a great resource if you need a room at the last minute—they track cancellations daily and might be able to refer you to an inn with newly available rooms. It's in the center of town, within a couple of blocks of both ferry landings, each of which also has a NVS booth in season. The Chamber of Commerce is another great place to get maps and island information; it's open weekdays 9 am to 5 pm, year-round.
