Figs at 29 Fair

Figs at 29 Fair Review

It's a safe bet that you have never chowed down on pizza in a more rarefied setting: a 1709 saltbox retaining its original king's wood paneling (so called because the widest trunks were reserved for the royal navy). Star chef Todd English has built a transcontinental empire atop his exemplary 'za, and you'll find it here in all its glory, including the house specialty with prosciutto, Gorgonzola, and balsamic jam. The thin-crust, ovoid pies tend to outshine the entrées, though the grilled swordfish (with creamy polenta and lemon-basil vinaigrette) easily holds its own.
