Fodor's Review

This resplendently updated 1850 resort straddles a "haulover" poised between ocean and bay—which means beaches on both sides—and you can head out by complimentary van or launch to partake of utmost pampering (the staff-to-guest ratio exceeds one-on-one). Optional activities include sailing, launches to a private beach along Coatue, and driving tours of the Great Point nature preserve. Of course, it's tempting just to stay put, what with the cushy country-chic rooms

(lavished with Pratesi linens) and a splendid restaurant, Topper's.
