This 1838 Greek Revival captain's house is decorated with impeccable taste, with down quilts and marble-finished baths. Breakfast is served in a formal dining room or beside the garden fountain. Whaling captains displayed a pineapple on their stoops upon completion of a successful journey, signaling the neighbors to come celebrate; here that spirit prevails daily—as it does at three in-town sister properties (The Summer House Fair Street, The Summer House India Street, and the 29 Fair Street Inn), comprising 48 rooms all told, operated under the auspices of the splendid Summer House out in 'Sconset—where all guests enjoy full beach and pool privileges.
