Seven Sea Street

Fodor's Review:

If this red-oak post-and-beam B&B looks awfully well preserved, that's because it was custom-built in 1987. Decked out in Early American style (decorative stenciling, fishnet-canopy beds, braided rugs), it offers the ambience of antiquity without all the creaky drawbacks. The Deluxe Suite, with its cathedral ceiling, full kitchen, gas fireplace, and harbor view, warrants a leisurely stay. Two satellite buildings up your odds of booking a room. Pros: Quiet side street, central location, handsome decor. Cons: Some rooms smallish, some darkish, Children's the only nearby beach.
