Fodor's Review:

Which way to the beach? You're on it: this snazzily updated 1920s beach club stakes its claim with a flotilla of colorful umbrellas—somewhat miffing natives, who consider sand rights anathema. Local politics aside, this is one prime chunk of gentle bay beach, and the complex makes the most of its site, with a gorgeous cathedral-ceiling lobby decorated with hanging quilts and rooms of every size and shape enhanced by island-made modern furnishings. Best of all, you can traipse across the sand to Galley Beach, one of the best restaurants around. Pros: Right on beach, two pools, good restaurant. Cons: Questionable private-beach karma, over-entitled guests, high prices.

I wish I checked other reviews before I booked my vacation. There are far nicer places to stay in Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. They were late checking us in. Some of the staff are obnoxious. The pool is advertised as heated but is freezing cold though beautiful. Kids allowed only in the the am when its colder. My room on the water had ugly brown carpet, beat up cabinetry, no microwave or coffee machine. No hand held shower or bathtub to wash my daughter and we were scolded for using the shower by the fitness room since she was a child (it has a hand held shower) Beach is small and my toddler ran off if it in seconds into a busy parking lot. Continental breakfast can be compared to a cheap motel. They see children and they cringe so if you have any this isn't the place for you. Our room was next to the restaurant and the smell of cooking fish all day is very nauseating. No activites. Bare bones beach club that I would recommend only for people looking for quiet preferably older. Very disappointing.
