Fodor's Review

To orient yourself before making your way around town, stop by this collection of historic buildings, including the Thomas Cooke House, the Francis Foster Museum, the Captain Francis Pease House, and the Carriage Shed. The museum sells an excellent Edgartown walking-tour booklet full of anecdotes and the history of the people who have lived in the town's houses over the past three centuries; you can purchase the booklet at the entrance gatehouse in summer or at the library in winter.
